3. FINALLY, the receiver of the gift card can use the code at checkout to redeem the gift card!!!!

Disclaimers

1) To avoid mistakes, please double-check your email address at checkout.  And, check both your inbox and spam folder for the email after purchasing. Send it to your email inbox first, so you can make sure it arrives. Then, text or forward the email code to the person you want to have the gift.

2) It is recommended to redeem the gift-card code at checkout within 30 days. No official expiration date has been set, but after 30 days and up to a year, I'll attempt to directly return the unused funds.

3) If the card is not used, eventually the funds will be sent back to your debit or credit card via Shopify's payment system (minus the 3% transaction fee that Shopify keeps as the payment processor).
